Local BusinessES Sponsor the COLD SPRING COMMUNITY Independence Day CELEBRATION
Everybody loves a parade.
This year the Fourth of July parade and fireworks celebration will take place in Cold Spring on Saturday, July 6. The village puts on these events with the help of dedicated volunteers, civic-minded organizations, and generous financial supporters.
As with past years, the Cold Spring Chamber of Commerce sponsors the community Independence Day parade by paying for the parade banner, and this year, we also volunteered to design the banner pro-bono.
The festivities entail significant costs, for things like bands, equipment and lighting, facilities and trash management, and extra on-duty police officers. These expenses increase every year, and this year we are asking the public and businesses for help paying them.
Contributions of any size are gratefully accepted, and donations of $100 or more will be recognized on a commemorative T-shirt on sale at the event. See the tee shirt image attached for a general idea (the final design and sponsor names will differ).
The Independence Day Committee is selling the shirts the day of the celebration, July 6th at the riverfront.
This is a wonderful way to show support for our community and our country in the name of your family, loved ones, organization, or business. This year approximately thirty locals and businesses contributed to show their support for this community gathering.
To donate, please make your check payable to “Cold Spring Village” and drop it off with Jeff Vidakovich, Village Clerk, at the Village Hall. If you contribute more than $100, please indicate the individual, family, organization, business, or “In memory of” name you would like listed on the T-shirt. The deadline to donate if you wish to get your name onto the tee-shirt is Monday, June 24.
