Every time we go to Vera's, we leave with a smile and a basketful of fresh local produce - and usually a few donuts too.

Here’s the story. In 1982, Vera and Tony Giordano purchased the Philipstown Farm Market in Cold Spring. Over the years they expanded the business to include the greenhouses full of flowers and gardening supplies that we know and love today. After Tony passed away in 2007, the next generation took the business under their wing, and Dominic and Joanne started a new chapter.

That chapter, luckily for all of us in Philipstown, included their famous apple cider donuts, which have been consistently ranked the best in the Hudson Valley. In 2009 they changed their name to the current Vera's Marketplace and Garden Center, because the business had become known as "Vera's" among locals.

Joanne and Dominic always have the freshest local products and lovely flowers and plants for the garden. But through this pandemic, they have gone above and beyond to serve the community. They worked around the clock for months on end keeping things stocked, taking phone orders, making sure they were serving their community, and just had one week off in the summer to catch their breath.

We are grateful to have such a gem of a family business in Philipstown.
