What do we mean by Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, and Accessibility?
Diversity encompasses the full spectrum of human difference, including but not limited to race, ethnicity, gender, gender identity and expression, sexual orientation, age, socioeconomic status, physical ability or attributes, religious or ethical values systems, national origin, political beliefs, and other identities and experiences.
Equity means ensuring fair treatment, access, opportunity, and advancement for all people, while identifying and eliminating barriers that prevent the full participation of some groups.
Inclusion refers to creating environments in which any individual or group is welcomed, respected, supported, and valued as a full participant.
Accessibility means ensuring that people of all abilities can fully participate in and contribute to business, community, and social activities through the removal of barriers—whether physical, digital, or attitudinal. It recognizes that designing environments, products, and services to be usable by everyone benefits our entire community.
