A new Comprehensive Plan, Philipstown 2030, has been submitted to the Town Board as the first step towards the Plan’s adoption later this year. The plan is based on information gathered from the residents of Philipstown over the last three years. It replaces the previous plan adopted in 2006 and known as Philipstown 2020.

“The vision provided in our Comprehensive Plan has been an invaluable planning guideline for me, and I am looking forward to the adoption of the new Plan,” commented Deputy Town Supervisor John Van Tassel at a recent Town Board meeting.

With the adoption process moving ahead, the Comprehensive Plan Committee, chaired by Nat Prentice, wants to make sure that residents embrace and support the vision laid out in the new Plan. To help neighbors learn about the Plan’s goals, the Committee will host virtual information meetings on March 1 and 6. The meeting schedule is as follows:

Monday, March 1st 1:00-2:00 PM and 6:00-7:00 PM (Two meetings)

Saturday, March 6th 10:00-11:00 AM (One meeting)

Each meeting will include a short presentation on the Plan, followed by opportunities for residents to ask questions and provide feedback about their aspirations and dreams for Philipstown’s future.
